I have tried Minty Coco Teeth Whitening - Does it work?

I do receive so many products from companies for testing and it can be everything from interior to beauty products. I try to focus on promoting products and services that I know my readers will love, hopefully you will love Minty Coco!

So what is Minty Coco?

Minty Coco is a teeth whitening product based on 100% natural ingredients, like coconut oil that are supposed to give you whiter teeth. Oil pulling is one of the biggest and more natural ways of getting that white Colgate smile, so how does it work?

About Oil Pulling!

Oil pulling is a very effective and easy method of oral hygiene and a great way to improve gum and oral health.

There are many oils you can use for oil pulling with some more favourable than others. The typical oils people use are:

  • Coconut oil
  • Sesame oil
  • Olive oil
  • a mixture of all three

Each gives similar results but there are several reasons why coconut oil reigns supreme as the most effective oil to use for oil pulling:

  1. Out of all the oils is has the nicest taste (although bitter)
  2. It is rich in antioxidants and lauric acid making it incredibly good for you
  3. Natural moisturiser so improves skin and gum health
  4. Can be flavoured for a more enjoyable oil pulling experience
  5. Natural stain remover so good at tackling tea, coffee and wine stains
  6. Softens plaque resulting in more removed when you brush

Does It Actually work?

I received a box with 14 single sachets. The box came with instruction and some extra tips on how to use and recycle the product after use! I have used half of my box already and I can honestly say that it works, to an extend! As with most of teeth whitening products the white colour on your teeth will fade after a while, especially if you drink coffee or soft drinks with a lot of sugar. You have to use it almost everyday in order to keep them white!

How do you use Minty Coco?

It is very easy to use each sachet, all you have to do is rub the sachet between your hands until the oil has warmed up and then pull out the oil in your mouth and swiss around for 5-15 minutes and spit it out! The oil has a minty taste with coconut flavour and it might be quite strong and weird in the beginning for some, but you will get used to it after a few times.  There will also be an instruction with the package if you are still unsure how to use the product!

This is really interesting – I have always wanted to try oil pulling and now I think I’ll give it a go. I have some natural coconut oil at home though, so I will probably try using that!

I have always wanted to have my teeth whitened and seeing as I have given up smoking, now is the perfect time to try it! I’ve heard of oil pulling before but not sure if I could tolerate it in my mouth without heaving. I am off to do some research.

It does seem interesting, and another option instead of actual whitening treatments which can cost a fortune.
